Importance of Corporate Values
I have been in the workforce for the past 20 years and only recently have truly appreciated the importance and significance of corporate values.
As an employee you enter a business and through your induction process are enlightened to the corporate values and beliefs of the business which you are magically meant to remember and embrace during your stay at the business. So often these phrases, words, spin or hype are just that, meaningless words! It is very easy for a business to proclaim they are honest, reliable, respectful and positive, but words mean nothing without action! The wording in corporate values is so important to the internal culture of the business and the external brand it perceives in the marketplace.
Corporate values are defined as the operating philosophies on principles that guide an organisation’s internal conduct, as well as its relationship with its customers, partners and shareholders.
elle belle recruitment maintains the values of Quality, Consistency and Exceptional Customer Service. These values are instilled in everything we do and how we represent ourselves. Corporate values mean nothing unless they are implemented, followed and believed in by all the team.
Quality refers to the standard of candidates we represent to our clients, the manner in which our consultants liaise with everyone and the internal processes we have.
Consistency is the approach we take to every situation. We have formal processes in interviewing staff, managing vacancies and liaising with all parties.
Exceptional customer service speaks for itself! We treat all clients and candidates equally; we respect the needs and values of all and provide the highest level of service. Customer service also extends internally as well and all staff members are treated with high levels of respect and honesty.
It is important for job seekers to understand the corporate values of any future employer to ensure they are aligned with their own beliefs and so too with employers to ensure the prospective candidates values meet the core values of the business. Too often as employers we recruit on skill set and fire on culture.
